Unexplained abdominal pain, anorexia, and weight loss
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Hey y’all! I’m a 31 year old female with a mystery GI problem going on. Back in December 15th, 2017 I went to bed feeling fine. I got woke up around 2 in the morning with the worst abdominal pain I had ever had. Ever since then the pain hasn’t left, I have completely lost my appetite...I can go days without eating and never get hungry. When I do eat due to a headache, being shaky from my blood sugar dropping (not diabetic), being bored, or pressure from friends and family to order at a restaurant when we go out, sometimes my pain will get so bad I end up in the ER but sometimes it doesn’t affect me at all. I can’t pin point what foods will make me hurt or incredibly nauseous because it’s never the same thing twice. It’s so incredibly difficult for me to eat anything. I’m absolutely terrified to eat at work because I don’t want to get sick and have to go home. I’ve had several cat scans, MRCP, manamotry, smart pill, CTA-A looking for MALS, numerous colonoscopies and EGD’s, and even surgery looking for adhesions. All my tests have been normal and my lab work has always been normal. I had a gastric emptying study done and the first 90 minutes the food didn’t move at all but for the 4 hour it was completely gone so it was deemed normal. I’ve had horrible constipation with all of this too and have to take trulance and linzess, but even with both of those I can either have diarrhea 2-4 times a day or go a week without a bowel movement. All of that is brand new. My GI has felt a mass between my stomach and right ribs, where it hurts all the time, throughout all of this and no one can tell me what it is. I was also recently diagnosed with depression, which isn’t surprising to me with everything I’ve been through. My PCP just retired and my GI moved out of state so now I’m starting over with both doctors. Anyone have anything similar or any suggestions for me to ask my new doctors once I find one?? I will literally take ANY advice or possible answers from you guys! Thanks so much and God bless!
