- CASE FILE
I’m here on behalf of my mom who has been essentially bedridden for the last 6 years. She has dizziness, pain, and unexplained brain lesions
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
My mom is 62. Her main symptoms are demyelinating brain lesions which cause her severe dizziness, vertigo, BPPV, and headaches. This has actually been going on since 2006. She has a history of bladder pain, for which she has received various diagnoses but no relief. She got shingles last year which developed into postherpetic neuralgia which has not gone away.
She is essentially bed-ridden and has been hospitalized multiple times, but nothing has helped. She has severe drug sensitivities, so any medications have only ever made things worse. She has multiple diagnoses, but nothing that explains what seems like an underlying issue. Some doctors have suggested MS, while others have ruled it out as her symptoms and test results don't quite match. And while many have suspected some sort of autoimmune disease, she has no such diagnosis. No one can explain the brain lesions. No treatments have been offered. And honestly, I miss my mom. She does her best to stay positive and hold on hope that things will eventually get better, but she struggles. This has entirely taken over her life. She missed my brother's wedding and her own mother's funeral. She saw advertisements for this show and thought maybe there was some hope that someone could help her.
