- CASE FILE
I have had severe pain in my right side for over 12 years. Seen numerous doctors of all types and cant get a definite answer.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
The pain in my right side is inconsistent. There is no pattern with what I eat, drink or do. The only remedy that seems to help most of the time is drinking water. When the pain is at its worst, it feels like i have a red hot knife stabbed into my side and when the pain moves, it feels like the knife if being dragged through my body. The pain is occasionally in my chest and when it's bad, it feels like what i would imagine a heart attack feels like. When the pain initially starts, i get nauseous and light headed. The longer the pain continues, the worse the symptoms become. If the pain continues for more than a few minutes, i become extremely bloated and gassy. I've almost passed out multiple times when having an attack. The doctors believed it was my gallbladder so they removed it and I still continue to have symptoms (worse now than before). The pain also happens any time. I've been woken up out of a sound sleep and had it happen when driving. When it starts, I go into an immediate panic and have to stop what I'm doing. It currently affects my job and I feel it's extremely dangerous when I have an attack while driving. I've had 7 different tests done multiple times over the last 12 years and have been to the e.r more times than I can remember. All tests come back normal and yet I'm still in severe pain never knowing when it will start or stop.
