Pain in different areas of body, fatigue, low oxygen sometimes, muscle weakness, tired after exercising
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
It started in December of 2016 when I woke up with a swollen toe. It got so painful that I had to go see a doctor. He sent me to a foot doctor who had no idea what was wrong but told me to take ibuprofen and some aspercreme for my foot. After awhile the pain went away but then I got really bad pain in my neck and shoulders that felt more like nerve pain and didn't go away with tylenol or ibuprofen or anything like that. I woke up crying one night it was so bad. And sometimes the pain would switch sides of my body. After that went away it went to my legs and lower back. My legs would feel sore and sometimes I would walk 1 block and it felt like I had biked 2 miles really fast. One time my legs were really painful and I couldn't walk up my steps. I went to a massage therapist who had worked at a physical therapist office before. I also tried acupuncture. This only temporarily helped. During this time I was also very exhausted to where I would go to work but after I couldn't do anything but rest all night. I had absolutely no energy for anything else. I was too tired for even normal things like making and dinner or taking a shower. This fatigue lasted about 6 months but the tiredness has never gone away. Then after all that I get pain in my abdomen every morning. It eventually goes away after awhile when I get up and move around but it wakes me up early and really hurts. My blood tests did show high ESR rates and C Reactive Protein which are still high right now. But I had many cat scans and MRI that didn't show anything. I also had a test in the spring of 2018 which was an oxygen test where you do the 6 minute walk and they measure your oxygen. It was very low. When I walked it went down right away but when I stopped it went right back up to normal. I went to see a pulmonologist and he prescribed oxygen but my insurance said the test was too old and I had to retake the test. The second time my oxygen was fine. Very weird. I also tested at home and twice in my doctors office and I had low oxygen rates then also. I am not sure why it is low sometimes but sometimes not. My last blood test had the high CReactive Protein and ESR but also slightly high ABS LYMPH and low AGAP don't know what any of these are :) My other doctor tested me again and I had high PMN % low LYMPHS % high CD4 % and high CD4/CD8 % - also have no idea what those are. It seems like I'll have a symptom and it will go away and a new one will come. Also a few months ago I started getting bad pain in my abdomen. Vastly different from the pain I get every morning. It started on a Wednesday or Thursday and kept getting worse to the point it felt what I compare it to bad contractions (never had them but the pain would come about every 10 minutes). Sunday night it was so bad that I had to go to the ER. They gave me a CT scan but didn't see anything. I was there overnight and sent home with some meds. The pain went away and thankfully hasn't come back. They put me on Pantroprizol for awhile because of those symptoms even though I didn't think I had any acid reflux or anything. Around that time a very short time before I went to the ER I also had a couple of incidents, the first was when I was out at an event and suddenly I couldn't talk, I tried but I couldn't, my hands felt numb and shaky and it was hard to breathe. It was definitely NOT anxiety. My friends noticed and were really worried and almost drove me to the ER but they drove me to my aunts house instead. She was having a party and one of her friends said I looked pale. My aunt said she is pale and the friend said I know but she looks VERY pale. This happened again not long after and people also mentioned I looked pale. Also in the past my iron was low and I have never had low iron. I took iron pills for awhile but my iron is back in normal range now. My folic acid was good in December but by February was low and now I am on Folic Acid. I will add I don't exercise much because when I do I am tired for like 3 days after. I am only able to swim a little which I do in the summer and some days I can do some walking, other days I can't walk very much. Though I can do normal walking right now when I couldn't before. Finally there was one week I was put on Prednisone and a lot of my symptoms got better but my doctors do not want to have me take that.
I have seen a pulmonologist, rheumatologist, endocrinologist, neurologist...everyone says something is wrong but can't figure out what it is. Currently the pain is much better, I only consistently have the pain in my abdomen. The leg pain has come back once a few months ago. I also still have the fatigue and my breathing feels tired almost like I am breathing under a sheet or something. Not sure how to explain it. I just had a neuro EMG which was negative so they said no nerve damage and then I have a test this month where they measure your oxygen while you are on a bike. I know most of this probably doesn't make sense but there are so many symptoms that I have and I've had SO many tests and blood test and doctors visits and I really want to figure out what is wrong.
