ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I have mal de debarquement syndrome. Diagnosed four years ago. Symptoms include vestibular issues- head feels like you’re moving when you’re not. Specifically, bobbing, swaying, pulling in different directions. Floor feels like it’s falling when walking. Sometimes symptoms are constant and other times not as noticeable. Triggered by different things- motion/travel especially boating or flights, small spaces, loud/bright areas, caffeine and alcohol, stress. There’s no cure but some experimental treatments. Often leads to depression and anxiety. Debilitating for many who suffer. Life changing disorder that people don’t understand or “see”.
