Diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis 3 years ago. Ever since, being immunocompromised has left me unable to live life to my fullest.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis at the age of 14, 3 years ago. This is where my immune system attacks my thyroid, until nothing is left of it. It leveled out, until this past November, when a virus that attacked my thyroid left me unable to get out of bed. Since my diagnosis, my entire digestive system is messed up, leading to acid reflux constantly, irritable bowel syndrome, an infection in my esophagus, a stabbing pain in my stomach, and a large swollen lymph node on my pancreas. I also have killer headaches and get sick very often. Because of the Hashimoto's, I'm always cold, fatigued, have dry skin, constipation, and often develop goiters that make my thyroid enlarged. I also developed a Vitamin D deficiency since being diagnosed. I'm searching for help because every doctor I have been to basically told me that there's nothing they can do anymore. As an active teenager very involved in high school life, on the cusp of going to college, I need to get better. Last year I missed 27.5 days of school. I just want to be better so I can live my life to the fullest, instead of missing out on events due to being bedridden.
