- CASE FILE
Since December 2017, I experience daily severe nerve pain on the top of my right foot, uncurable and unexplainable by over 6 doctors.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I experience daily nerve pain on the top of my right foot only. This pain can be described as feeling like an itch from an insect bite, to stabbing pain, as though someone is stabbing my foot with a sharp knife. Also, irritating tingle will occur during the day. The pain worsens the more INACTIVE I am. Sitting for long periods of time or wearing high heels will aggravate the pain. I do not have any other pain in any other place in my body whatsoever. Walking long distances decreases pain. I currently take 600 mg. Gabapentin every night, and connect my foot to a TENS device for an hour or more per night (If I walk long distances, I can sometimes skip the TENS device). The device and Gabapentin nightly allow the pain to be minimized or eliminated so I am able to sleep. When this first occurred, I was unable to sleep for 3-4 nights and became seriously dysfunctional. The pain and necessary TENS nightly is beginning to affect my quality of life. Infrequently, the pain does not disappear/is not managable and I spend 1-2 days with irritation, slight pain and tingling.
