Numbness and painful tingling in my entire right side except for my hand and foot, any pressure put on it worsens the pain in that area no matter how light. I’ve been to doctors about it for over ten years. I have cerebral palsy, and was premature at birth. Three and a half months early. The feeling (I’ve always called it the weird feeling since I was a kid) started around the time I had scoliosis, but I’ve been checked for spine issues that could cause it and that’s not it, I’ve had an MRI on my brain back when I had insurance, the only anomaly’s were "normal" for premie babies.
I’ve not slept well in years. My sleep schedule is a mess, I stay up all day and don’t/can’t sleep until around four if I’m lucky, but then I usually wake up around eight or nine and the cycle repeats. There have been nights where I don’t sleep at all. I have been given pills for it but they aren’t helping. I’ve had the dosage upped three times in less than a year and a half. They don’t do anything at all, they barely take the edge of the edge off.
I’m having trouble these days just keeping it together and not crying. I dread night because I don’t have much to keep my brain occupied all the time so I feel all of the pain and it becomes all I can focus on. I never mention how much it hurts to my parents now that I’ve lost my insurance because there’s nothing they can do about it. The doctors were never any help either, always telling us what it wasn’t instead of what it was, which I’ve heard so many times before. I’ve just about given up hope to be honest, I don’t want to deal with this pain forever, I don’t know if I can.
