- CASE FILE
I'm allergic to sun and sunscreen. Yes, to both.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
My condition didn't show up until I was 7 years old and the first time I had an allergic reaction I didn't even understand what was happening. My body was completely out of control. My skin turned red, my whole body began to swell, the rash began to turn into blisters all over my body and on the way, long way, to the hospital I couldn't sit down because my skin couldn't touch anything.
For many years I visited different doctors looking for explanations and help, but the only thing I get is a bunch of medicine prescribed for all type of allergy that does not really control my reaction and I have spent a lot of money trying different sunscreens that still cause me rash and don't protect my skin of the reaction to solar exposure at all.
In the last 20 years, I have spent my life covering myself with clothes, towels, umbrellas, trying to live a normal life. Sometimes I take very strong allergy shots, which normally works for a month, but for me works for only 1 day.
Besides wanting to live a normal life, I want to be able to protect my skin. The first doctor who saw me said that I was a perfect candidate to have skin cancer at an early age and since then I have fought this condition so it does not become a reality.
