- CASE FILE
I’ve been dealing with an undiagnosed dermatological condition on my feet and hands for the past 11 years.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I was born with a right club foot. In 2007 I had a tendon reattachment surgery. Which was my last surgery. Around 2008 I started experiencing extreme itching on both feet. Thinking it was athletes foot, I tried taking care of it with athletes foot medicine, which did not work. Throughout the next 11 years I have seen 4 dermatologists, 2 podiatrists, 5 PCP’s, and will be seeing a rheumatologist in August. I have tried a grocery bag full of oral and topical medications, steroid creams and pills, lotions, pure aloe, etc. My feet crack, peel, and bleed excessively. To the point where I need help getting out of bed in the morning and taking a shower. Taking a shower almost gives me a panic attack because it’s so painful. 3 times my hands have also cracked and peeled. But not near to the extent of my feet.
I’ve been told I have dermatitis, ichthyosis, psoriasis. But none of the medicine for these conditions helps.
I’ve also had cellulitis 8+ times on my right lower leg. I have PCOS, a horseshoe kidney, and a bicornuate uterus.
