My wife’s symptoms started 10 years ago with leg and arm weakness. She would fall unexpectedly. We went to the ER and they said she had restless leg syndrome. We went to a neurologist who did nerve studies which came back normal and did an MRI which found 30 lesions on her brain and white matter. We could not afford to pay him because we went from two incomes to one and was about to lose everything so he refused to treat her. We went to an MS specialist in Cleveland at the Clinic but was told she did not meet the total number of criteria to diagnose and referred us to Erie. We saw a different neurologist here and she referred us to a rheumatologist in Pittsburgh who said it was not rheumatoid and sent us back to Erie. The neurologist here referred us to a neurosurgeon who said they could not help. My wife had her gallbladder removed because if issues. They took 23 vials of blood to test for autoimmune disorders to come back showing nothing. Since then she has developed chronic migraines daily. We went to a pain specialist here in Erie and this doctor told my wife she is in pain because she is fat. We started taking her to the ER as diloted helped relieve the pain for a short period of time. Now she has been labeled as a druggie just trying to get a fix. She is not addicted to drugs and since no one can help her the meds from ER gave her a few days of relief. The doctors here have been very nasty and degrading of her saying she has idiopathic pain. Living with my wife I know she is not making this up. I cry daily seeing my wife suffer with no sense of life. She was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and chronic migraine disease but none of the meds work for her. She has basically given up. We don’t have money to go to a bigger clinic and at this point don’t know if it would matter as no one wants to help my wife. There are days she can’t walk. She has no feeling in her feet. I beg for help as this has effected our family. I have been working two jobs for many years now and have missed out on my daughter,s growing up. They also are effected by this. We had to sell our home of 20 years for a cheep price before we lost it. Moved into a small townhome in a different school district. My youngest daughter was bullied to the point that she has PTSD and the school denies everything. We are is desperate need of help.
