ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I have chronic Clostridioides difficile (cDiff) in my small intestines. I have seen multiple specialist and they all say the same thing. They do not understand how I have it in my small intestine. cDiff is a colon based bacterial infection, small intestine does not have the flora to fight off the infection. There is no one a live with my condition. So they are grasping and trying different things. When I get sick, it almost kills me. It dehydrates my within hours of showing up and I'm in the hospital for atleast 2 weeks at a time trying to get everything under control. They have me on vancomycin daily, indefinitely. The only problem is I am starting to have problems with the side effects of long term use of vancomycin. I am 28 years old and have a 2 year old. I want to stay healthy so i can watch him grow up.
