I am in constant pain, I fall asleep all of the time, and yet can't sleep at night. Doctors have no answer. I just want my life back.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
For over five years, I have spent my days in constant pain, alternating between falling asleep during the day and not being able to sleep at night. I am in constant pain, between my back and feet, and I can hardly function on a day to day basis. I have had four sleep studies, all with different results, varying between sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, and many others. I have had two major hospital visits, the first being an odd infection in my elbow, and a second one with a blood sugar high enough to kill me and pneumonia that sent me into sepsis shock, both of which showed the same symptoms in the days prior. I have been to various doctors and am in the UCLA medical center, and yet years of treatment has showed no improvement. I have been put on intense pain medications, which I have stopped taking, used an apnea machine (that did not work), got a mouth guard to open my airways at night (made no difference), and have tried different types of insulin. I even tried unorthodox medicine for a bit, but insurance issues and lack of money proved to be too much of an issue. On top of physical issues, I have mood swings in which I do or say things that sometimes, I can't remember, according to my wife and daughter. Doctors have not found a cause or solution and I still fall asleep everyday, I am in constant pain, I cannot work, and I am hardly living. I am seeking out help in hopes that I can find the root of my problem and, hopefully, a solution.
