I have severe chronic pain in lower right abdominal/groin area since 2010. Tests, surgeries & 17 doctors are unable to diagnose the problem
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Lower right abdominal-groin pain since early 2010. Pain levels reaching 9-10. Approximately a year ago, the pain starting radiating down the outside of my right leg. Minor activity makes it worse. I was able to wear stretchy pants but now have to wear dresses or maternity pants. Sleep is often interrupted and I miss time from work. I've seen 17 doctors, who have performed the following: CT scans, colonoscopy, vaginal ultrasounds, pelvic exam, MRI, X-ray, EMG, and still no diagnosis. I've had 3 surgeries: hernia repair, appendectomy and a resection of my the ilioguinal & iliphypogastric nerves. I have tried physical therapy, abdominal trigger point injections, spinal nerve block injections on the L2, L5, and L1, TENS therapy, dry needling, cryotherapy and Clarix injections. Nothing has helped! I've tried several prescribed medications but no help. I now take 800 mg twice a day of Advil and 440 mg of Aleve at night just to keep the pain bearable. It's possible an injury occurred during and automobile accident in Aug. 2009. I rear ended someone and the lap seat belt may have caused some kind of damage (the pain is in that location). I don't know how much more of this pain I can bear. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
