27 year old, unexplained chronic hip discomfort extending down to the ankle
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
chronic hip discomfort. radiates from lower back to the right hip all the way down to the ankle. pain when walking. pain when sitting for prolonged periods, pain is sometimes enough to go to the ER (feels like someone is ripping me in half like a phone book, unable to walk when that happens.) leg is constantly restless. the only medication to have "helped" is Tramadol but i am weary of continuing use because its an opiate. the discomfort makes it difficult to sleep at night and makes my depression/anxiety worse and often interferes with my working and social life as i am typical too tired to do anything or to in pain to be mobile (more often than not too tired]. i have spoken to a few doctors, i've gotten a variety of responses from "you're too young for this pain its all in your head" to "its because you don't exercise enough" . i've also been told it could be sciatica, it could be a tarlov cyst, or "sorry we don't know what it is".
I don't have a good insurance currently so i cant go back to the doctor but I would love nothing more than to get a more solid answer than "it could be this" and would love if I can to find an actual solution that isn't addictive to ease my pain. i just want to be able to sleep at night without tossing and turning.
i have also tried CBD products like rubs and bath oils and those are a minor help
