ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I have had this rash for about 10 years. It appeared one day on my right arm and has been with me ever since. It has now in the last year traveled to my left arm.
In the beginning I was prescribed medication after medication until we worked up to clobetasol, which worked amazingly well but landed up ruining my skin. Other creams were only temporary fixes. I had one dermatologist who tried prescribing compounded creams but sadly they also didn't work. I now use triamcinolone acetonide and it helps to reduce the rash somewhat but it always returns. I also get flare-ups which appear out of the blue, large painful, sometimes itchy swollen areas that usually last about a week. The regular rash though is still there all of the time.
I've had 6 biopsies that all say the same thing - spongiotic dermatitis - and have also had 2 patch tests that did not reveal any glaring allergies just allergies to lots of things that I have tried to eliminate from my life.
I would love to have this rash eliminated from my life. I would love to find out definitively what it is I'm allergic to so I can eliminate it from my life.
**The photos I'm sending unfortunately don't show the rash at its best. I'm just about over the latest outbreak.
