Debilitating fatigue and muscle pain. Multiple labs reveal no issues. I am too exhausted to plan my own wedding! Please help me find answers
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
In January 2019, I began sleeping 11 to 12 hours each night due to debilitating fatigue. Even so, every day is a struggle just to function. Some days just taking a shower uses up all my energy. There are times when I spend the entire day in bed.
I need to work, but I don't know how much longer I will able to do so.
I am trying to plan a wedding - I am getting married in September! I am so excited about marrying my wonderful fiance, but I am also sad and anxious because I don't have the energy to plan the wedding I want and it is going to be a struggle to make it through my special day.
In April, my family doctor suggested I stop all my medication for one month to see if that helped (because a few of my medicines cause sleepiness). I stopped everything except the duloxetine (at the recommendation of my psychiatrist), but I wasn't able to sleep at all at night, so I resumed my medication after two weeks. I have been taking these medications for many years without debilitating fatigue.
I have seen four physicians (Family doctor, psychiatrist, nephrologist, and endocrinologist) and had the following labs:
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, 2/22/19
Vitamin B12 & Hemoglobin A1c, 3/29/19
Protein, Total and Protein Electrophoresis; Iron and Total Iron Binding Capacity; Comprehensive Metabolic Panel; Vitamin D; CBC; Ferritin, 4/5/19
Protein, Total w/Creat, Random Urine, 4/8/19
Iron, TIBC and Ferritin Panel; CBC; Vitamin B12/Folate, Serum Panel, 5/6/19
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel; Hemoglobin A1c, 6/11/19
Sleep apnea study (home), approx 4/19
All tests are within normal range.
I am really hoping someone can figure out why I am so exhausted all the time and what I can do, if anything, to feel better and restore some sense of normalcy in my life.
