ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
At 10 years old my body started changing from a normal girl. My hair went from straight to extremely curly, I grew taller fast, my weight increased dramatically, my eye sight changed rapidly, all of the hair on my body grew fast, my stomach became very sensitive, and I thought it was puberty. Eventually I had a vaginal discharge that was very extreme. Over the next few years the symptoms increased and I went to Childrens Hospital of the Kings Daughters and they diagnosed me with PCOS. By this time I had grown to 6'2" & 260lbs. with dark patches of skin on my body. I eventually had a vaginal discharge that would not stop and ended up needing 6 pints of blood. Because of these symptoms, I have had eating disorders bulimia and anorexia, my level of energy has decreased, and mental issues, and I have had multiple IUDs, I have had multiple trips to emergency rooms due to the symptoms. I have seen specialists from Virginia Medical School of Medicine, Duke University Hospital, University of North Carolina Hospital as well as CHKD but no resolve. My parents are at their wits end and I know they have spent almost all their savings taking me everywhere to find a cure. I hate to see them financially stressed because of me. My dad has apologized to me numerous times because he doesn't know what else to do. I am now 21 and am getting married next October. I JUST WANT TO HAVE A NORMAL LIFE!
