Doctors stumped. I have multiple symptoms that do not fit into a specific category. I belong in my classroom...not a prisoner in my home.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Doctors are stumped. Right now, bloodwork shows very high inflammation levels. My hands are swollen and become numb with pins & needles. I have edema almost everywhere. I am in so much pain in my entire body. I’ve had MRIs, X-rays, bloodwork, EMGs, and EEGs. I was diagnosed with herniated discs, osteophyte complex in neck, neuropathy, and arthritis (I tested negative for rheumatoid arthritis). Though I’ve had chronic pain (2005 spinal fusion, multiple knee surgeries, hysterectomy, multiple lumbar epidurals, facet injections), the pain I am in now is far worse. I’ve had to take a leave from work (I’m a teacher). I can’t walk for more than a block, and I can’t sit or stand for long. I’ve gotten Bell’s Palsy 4 times! The only somewhat comfortable position is in a recliner. Pain meds barely take the edge off and I am now on medical marijuana. The rheumatologist recently prescribed methotrexate to see if it may help. I had to stop it after 4 weeks because of liver levels. And, my CRP level in blood increased! I’m afraid I’m just going to continue deteriorating. I am now depressed and feel like there’s no end to this prison I’m in. Please help.
