Sudden and severe bouts of abdominal pain that leaves me unable to walk and with no discernable cause
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Two years ago I began experiencing severe bouts of abdominal pain. There is no known cause and the severity would leave me unable to move and sent me to the emergency room on multiple occasions. They would do CAT scans and would find nothing, the pain eventually fading after about six hours and would lead to my discharge. It has been hurting as well the past few months to bend over at the waist and has not gotten better at all. I will also have weeks at a time where I am too nauseous and not hungry where I can barely eat. A memorable time was when it happened for three weeks, with me barely able to keep down a granola bar a day and I lost almost 20 pounds in that time. This rapid weight loss was also a concern, though I have been able to manage it a bit better as time has passed. Any time that I eat food it either ends up being thrown up (rarely) or gives me diarrhea (extremely common), which takes its toll after two years. At this point the only suggestion that my doctor has left is for me to be hospitalized and monitored to see if they can figure it out, which I am unable to take the time to do right now in my life. They had tried an endoscopy but found nothing and I'm not sure what else to do at this point.
