ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Lichen Sclerosis. A precancerous condition that affects the vulvar region of a woman. Symptoms include: Uncontrollable itching, fusing, disfigurement of vagina, lesions, discoloration (white or pale appearance) of vagina, pernium, and rectal area. Painful urination and intercourse. Tearing of skin within vulvar area.If not treated it can cause disfigurement, fusing, and atrophy of the vagina. Not much is known about the condition as its considered rare however millions of women have it and are either misdiagnosed with something else or go untreated. Not many Gynecologists are aware of this condition. I was misdiagnosed with yeast infection, and bacterial vaginosis before finally being diagnosed with a Vulvar biopsy.
