ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
For the past 5 years I have experienced a burning sensation in the roof of my mouth. The intensity of the burn will vary, and I have noticed that it is usually not as bad when I get up in the morning, but the burn usually increases throughout the day. I have noticed that it is at it's worse when I am experiencing stress. I also have a bitter taste coming from the back of my throat and I have lost most of my sense of smell. I have had brain scans, allergy test, and numerous exams from dentist. I have been given prescription drugs and have tried a variety of vitamins and supplements that others reporting BMS (Burning Mouth Syndrome) without any relief. This all started after a small medical procedure to remove a non-cancerous tumor. Some days I just want to cry I am so tired of the pain. I have found that chewing peppermint gum will help.
