Unexplained high blood pressure. At age 22, my blood pressure was sky high at 220/118. I am 45 now and scared I’m going to have a stroke.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
At the age of 22, I was hospitalized with blood pressure of 220/118. For 23 years now, my blood pressure has been high and doctors have unsuccessfully treated it. I was diagnosed with PCOS in my 20’s and that was the explanation then...however, after numerous fertility treatments, I was unable to have a baby. Now, at almost 45 years old, my current doctor has no explanation for the high blood pressure. After a full panel of tests, she doesn’t think I have PCOS, either. As I’m getting older, I am worried about stroking out and being a financial burden on my family. I pray that if I do have a stroke, I pray I go ahead and die. Although it is too late for me to have a baby, I am also upset that many years were wasted on fertility treatments. If my case can help even one young woman have a baby, then this will all be worth it. I just want to be healthy and not die young.
