I've had upwards of 40 possible fractures since the age of 7. I'm now 22 and am constantly in pain dealing with with various injuries.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
When I was 9, I got diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta after I broke 7 bones in one year. I continued to have multiple injuries, at least two per year, however most of them only showed edema on MRIs, which caused doctors to question if I really had OI or not.
They did a genetics test on me, which came back as inconclusive, but showed a mutation in one gene that would typically show mutations for Ehlers Danlos, however it was not a mutation that had ever been seen before in the database.
Now, at 22, I've had 9 different surgeries for either loose or torn ligaments, although I've never been officially diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos, and I've had upwards of 40 possible fractures that doctors no longer believe are actually related to OI.
I've also been diagnosed with POTS, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, and have chronic daily migraines.
Currently I'm dealing with a foot injury that has been hurting for over 2 years. They've done MRIs, and ultrasounds and bone scans and they can't find anything wrong, but anytime I try and get out of the walking boot my foot just gets worse and worss
