- CASE FILE
I have reoccurring rhabdomyolysis with continuing muscle weakness and flu like body aches. I am scared of long term effects.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I had been active my entire life until in 2016 when I got my first episode of Rhabdomyolysis with my CK levels of 47,000. I've had 2 more episodes since. This last time I was hospitalized for 5 days. Since, I have had every genetic testing there is for muscle disease with the Mayo Clinic. I have done 2 muscle biopsies that shows abnormality but nothing specific. I have seen a rheumatologist that shows a positive ANA but that doesn't mean anything. I did a workout study that doesn't point to anything specific. I was told there is nothing else that can be done. I was finally released to walk but that is all they recommend for the rest of my life and I am only 29. They told me if I try to be active more than likely I will continue to get rhabdomyolysis which could have long term effects on my kidneys and liver. I need help, I have no more resources.
