End stage renal failure due to polycystic kidney disease
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease when I was in my late 30’s. It’s an illness that causes cysts to form on your kidneys and other organs. As the cysts grow, they burst and cause pain along with scar tissue. The kidney grows in size to compensate for the scar tissue. A larger kidney allows for more cysts to grow, which burst and cause even more scar tissue. It’s a vicious cycle.
