I have been struggling for the past decade with various illnesses (literally a dozen) and have seen multiple specialists- to no avail.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I am seeking help because after a decade of mysterious illness after illness and no specific cause or explanation as to why I am constantly so sick at such a young age, I know there has to be sometime bigger underlying it all. It started a decade ago as a teenager when I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, Juvenile Arthritis, and Tachycardia. A few years later I was diagnosed with Chronic Migraine and Hormonal imbalances along with Insulin Resistance. Then my health quickly digressed and I was diagnosed with a Pituitary tumor which was thought to be causing Cyclical Cushings disease, however, upon biopsy the tumor did not explain the Cushings, yet I still have this disorder (even today.) My exercise intolerance became worse from my tachycardia and then I started to develop Urticaria when exercising. My hair began thinning and falling out randomly and I developed Adult onset Acne. After a few years of this we found out I am Vitamin B12 deficient due to lack of the intrinsic factor in my gut. I also have other forms of anemia, but not all the time, just sometimes. I am extremely flexible but have severe pain and stiffness that changes my gait and chronic severe hip and neck pain with intermittent periods of muscle soreness all over. I have been diagnosed with CFS as a "catch all" for the pain and fatigue. I experience hyperlipidemia even with a "perfect" diet and exercise routine. At one point I was also diagnosed with an unspecified Circadian Rhythm disorder and Narcolepsy to try and explain symptoms. In my family I am the shortest and abnormally small for an adult. I have chronic inflammation but often normal lab results and occasionally abnormal white blood cells but not enough to investigate further. Sometimes my labs are perfectly normal and sometimes they aren't. In the past 2 years I have developed new allergies and worsening pain that makes me feel like I am 80 years old; I wake up tired and sore and my previous Pituitary tumor reoccurred however it is being managed and still doesn't explain the cushings or other symptoms. I have also struggled with recurrent depression and ADD symptoms that come and go. I also had a hemorrhagic stroke at the age of 21 and have had memory issues ever since (also unexplained cause.) I have been "sick" for what feels like my entire life...and certainly for all of my adult life. I had multiple family members who died early in life and I strongly feel there is some genetic component. I have taken medications for years as new symptoms appear, eventually we get whatever is going on at the time under control and I am ok for a while but then something else happens and I am sick again. I am so tired of being sick and tired and just want to live a healthy life. I do everything right but am still so sick so often. Doctors pass me around with my long history of illnesses and no one can come up with a single diagnosis, they just keep referring me to the "next guy." I am only approaching 30yo and I can't imagine what will happen in the next 30 years if something doesn't get figured out. I desperately need help, my future depends on it!
