- CASE FILE
7 years of unexplained and worsening chronic pain. Started as severe pelvic pain that has now become full body.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
After I quit nursing my second child (2013), I started having pelvic pain. Over a 5 year period, it got increasingly worse and came to include terrible periods and severe pain with ovulation. Multiple surgeries, multiple specialists tried many meds, Mayo Clinic, could not find any reason for my issues. They looked for cancer, fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic congestion, scar tissue, PID, PCOS. All tests/biopsies/scans came back normal. In March of 2017, I underwent a total hysterectomy and oophrectomy, at the age of 33. All pathology came back normal. September of 2017 I started having joint/bone pain. I was referred to more specialists who looked for arthritis, lupus, Ehlers Danlos, and lymes disease. All testing came back normal. Was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in January of 2018 as a last resort. We have tried many medications, infusions, traditional Chinese medicine, supplements, physical therapy, and multiple alternative modalities, all with little to no success. My body does not react to most medications. Nothing we have tried has brought me relief. I dealt with migraines for years. Hormonally driven since puberty. I have been hypermobile my whole life.
