ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
At the end of December of 2017 I started getting a headache, and at first I thought I was just getting sick with a head cold (or something similar). But after a couple days, the headache didn't go away, so I went to the ER to seek some help. They had taken some xrays of my head and then gave me an injection for someone who would be experiencing a sinus infection. When that didnt give me any relief, they have me a shot that was for someone with a migraine. Whatever they gave me ended up making me feel worse. My face felt prickly and my jaw felt heavy, so they weren't sure if I was having a allergic reaction to the medication or not. They then told me there was nothing more they could do for me that night and sent me home. The next day, still not feeling any better, I decided to go to a different ER to see if they would be able to help me. They gave me some steroids and told me to make an appointment with a provider for further testing. The steroids did nothing besides relieve some pressure that I had behind my eyes. I met with a provider later that week, and got more testing scheduled, so when all said and done I had done a MRI, MRA, CT scan, blood work, eye exam, specialty doctor eye exam, physical therapy for my neck and back, the chiropractor, and everything came back normal with no signs of anything out of the ordinary. These tests checked for pressure in my brain/eyes, for aneurisms, blood levels being off, spinal alignment, muscle stiffness/connections, and I'm sure other thing I cant remember. But then I was then referred to the Neurology Clinic at the UW Madison hospital. While there I was put on several medications and taken off due to no relief from them, and then I was further referred to the headache clinic. It took several months for me to get an appointment there and once I did, it was me trying more medications that didnt work. After those didnt work I was then recommended to try BOTOX for chronic migraine. I have recieved 4 rounds of that treatment and there has been no relief still, and because there is no signs of improvement, my insurance is refusing to pay for any further dosages.
So, at this point I have had a constant headache/migraine for a year and 7 months (so far) and not a single person has any idea how to help me. They have diagnosed me with "new daily Persistent headache" and "chronic migraine". Some days my headaches are so bad I can hardly get out of bed, but most days, I just have to fight through it because I cant just stop my life because of it. Nothing happened prior to these headaches starting that I can say why it started, it just randomly happened. I have also never had a migraine until these headaches started. Most of my pain is around and above my temple areas on both sides of my head, and every once in a while I get waves of sharp pain going to one temple at a time. I would love to find an answer on what is causing these headaches so that I could possibly find a cure to end the constant pain I am in.
