My endocrine system is drastically out of control and it is beginning to damage my internal organs. My bloodwork never has the same results
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
About 9 years ago I began to lose energy and developed abdominal swelling. I also found myself urinating up to 45 times per day, accompanied by severe bladder pain and a gerenal ill feeling. I was quickly diagnosed with interstitial cystitis and began treatment. While there were improvements with my bladder, other issues developed. I started having tachycardia daily, with a resting heart rate of 120. I started gaining weight with no change in diet. Then I started having headaches, hair loss, loss of energy, times when I would fall asleep uncontrollably and times when I would have insomnia for days. All of my joints and bones started hurting, n6y skin and nails changed. Over the years Ive been given different diagnosis, like POTS or fibromyalgia, or some doctors told me it was because of my weight even though I was physically fit when it all started. Fast forward to today; I am seeing an endocronolgist that has discovered hypercalcemia, very high cortisol levels, severly fluctuating potassium levels, zero vitamin D and changes in my hormones and thyroid. Everytime a blood or urine panel is ran there is something different. She thinks it could be Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia, but Ive had numerous scans done and they are unable to locate any tumors in my endocrine system. My liver, heart and kidneys are beginning to show signs of damage due to fhe fluctuations in my endocrine system. There are days where getting out of bed is next to impossible, not only because of fatigue, but also pain. During the early stages of my illness I was in an extremely abusive marriage. My daughter and I have been through hell and back; I need answers, I need to be there for her. We are free from him now, I need help so her and I can enjoy that freedom.
