23-Diagnosed with chronic urticaria and an unnamed autoimmune disease last year and suddenly began having neurological issues two months ago
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
A year ago I began getting hives after completing a round of antibiotics (amoxicillin 1000mg 2x a day for 10 days for a minor ear infection) that got increasingly worse each day. Allergy to amoxicillin was suspected, however over 1 year later the hives persist. No diagnosis has be given aside from chronic urticaria (chronic hives) and an unspecified autoimmune disease. Without diagnosis, only treatment of symptoms happened and after 6 months of being covered in hives Xolair injections finally began to show results. Hives have finally cleared up, and about two months ago I began having neurological issues that began as "episodes" of what I can only describe as my brain crashing and rebooting that last a few seconds and occur multiple times a week, up to three times a day. With these episodes, new symptoms appeared including tingling in fingers, toes, and severe tingling in my face that indicates an oncoming episode as the tingling begins around the sides of my face and grows closer to the nose and covers my entire face. Since these symptoms have appeared, hives have significantly decreased, which is why I think there may be a connection. I've had an EEG done as well as a CT and I haven't heard anything back and in regards to the CT and blood panels I've been told I'm completely healthy. My quality of life has significantly decreased, my depression has gotten worse despite medication not changing leading up to this. At this point I'm afraid of driving, I'm always tired and feeling like I'm getting quite old despite only being 23.
