ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
In Dec 2012, I suffered a miscarriage while having the mirena IUD implanted. Six months later, after experiencing several joint issues, I was referred to a rheumatologist and diagnosed with RA and fibromyalgia. I've had several facet injections in my back and RFLs on both sides of my spine. I've also had numerous injections in my knees and one lateral release. Over the next 6 years, I've been diagnosed with T2D, sarcoidosis of the lungs and lymph nodes, possible IBD, and ak currently being worked up for a neurological issue dealing with the left side of my brain. I've had 2 spinal taps and 2 EEGs at this point. Many of my doctors, both past and present have agreed with me that it's extremely unlikely I'd go from a fairly healthy 34 year old who worked full time as a Medical Staff Coordinator (a job I held and loved for over 16 years), coached softball, was involved in Girl Scouts and her daughter's school, to being on disability by 2015 and barely being able to get out of bed some days. My neurologist, specifically, has agreed with me that there's one missing piece that ties all these illnesses and symptoms together, but we've yet to find it. My husband of 17 years, my kids, my parents, all 3 of my sisters, and friends who have known me before my complete collapse, will tell you I'm nowhere near the same person I was in 2012.
I apologize if this description was less than stellar. I've gone over it 20 times bc one of my current issues is difficulty finding my words, both in writing and speaking. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
