Corneal Neuropathy stabbing pain in eyes
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
About Five years ago and without any type of trauma my eyes started to develop sharp pain like an ice pick was being stabbed into my eyes. The pain would become at times unbearable and would disturb my going to work as well as my normal life. The pain was debilitating to say the least.
We consulted many different Opthomologists about the condition and every one of the could find nothing wrong with the eyes. Most of them would look at you as if you were crazy and just dismiss you or send you off to see someone else.
In our search of the internet we did find some research about the condition done by a Dr Rosenthal from the Boston Eye Clinic but his studies were incomplete and no real resolution was ever found. Also the studies are years old and he has since retired. We did find out by searching the internet that there are other people suffering from the same condition and are having the same problems with finding any real studies on the disease.
My husband and eye continue to search the internet for any kind of new studies but we can find none.
The only type of relief we have been able to find is by compounding Lacosimide eyedrops from a specialty pharmacy in Pheniox Az. This does give some relief but we are hoping that there is another type of treatment for this debilitating disease. Any help from your staff or from any other persons out there suffering from this disease would be a god send
