ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Diagnosed with Mal de Debarquement Syndrome. Over last year, my overall health and quality of life continues to decline rapidly. I have constant rocking, bobbing, loss of balance, blurred vision, constant headaches, extreme pressure in head and ears, memory loss, slowed speech and problems word finding, developed panic disorder, major depressive disorder, tremors, constant UTI, vitamin deficiencies, and overall feeling of unwellness. My life has nearly stoppped and at times has completely stopped. I was bedridden for months but have been working hard with PT to regain some mobility. Mdds has no known cure. A few experimental treatments are out there but not covered by insurance and very expensive. I spent two weeks in NC doing gyrostem treatments which helped some while there but most symptoms returned as soon as treatment ended. MDDS patients have a morbidly high rate of suicide, and I haven’t talked to one patient of this dreaded disorder who hasn’t contemplated suicide. The loss of quality of life is unexplainable. Only 1.3% of population develops this syndrome therefore making it low on the list of research and treatments. Please help bring awareness, research, and hope to all of us fighting for our lives. Any success story would be so welcome or any known treatments or help.
