11 years with a demyelinating disease of the central nervous system, horrible neuropathies, heat/sun sensitivity, and joint pain
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I’ve been tested and told I have an unknown autoimmune disease that is similar to MS and Lupus. I am extremely sensitive to heat and sun- breaking out in hives and extreme fatigue. I have painful neuropathies that make it unbearable to have someone touch my skin. I’ve had shingles at least 6 times in the last few years. I have some unspecified lesions on my brain, a stable aneurysm over my optic nerve in my right eye, h-pylori infection, small fiber neuropathies, optic neuritis and hypothyroidism.
I’ve been tested and tested with no real cause or treatment plan. I am being treated symptomatically and the medications aren’t helping. I take several medications just to keep the neuropathies at a relatively bearable level. It takes everything I have to go to work all day, and I’m exhausted every night. The heat make everything ten times worse. If I am in the sun, I break out in hives. If I get overheated, it can take a week to recover. The neuropathies wake me at night and make the lightest touch feel like searing pain.
