- CASE FILE
Hello. I’m Logan and I’m 21 years old. An unknown sleep disorder has robbed me of my life. I want to join the military, but it’s impossible.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I experience Excessive Daytime Sleepiness and Fatigue. I suffer from Depression. I also have difficulty concentrating. The depression isn’t linked to the sleepiness or fatigue. I’ve had about 3 sleep studies in the past year and a half and my CPAP is eliminating the Apnea’s/Hypopneas, but my Arousal Index (the number of times my sleep is fragmented) is high. So, my sleep is fragmented, but the doctors can’t tell me why. They’ve ruled out Narcolepsy, Idiopathic Hypersomnia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It seems to revolve around my breathing. It has robbed me of my life. I’m currently in college with aspirations to join the Army, but this illness has made it impossible. School is also incredibly difficult.
