ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
This all started back on Father’s Day with three small bumps on my face which I didn’t think anything of until the bumps started coming up all over my face and arms. Since July 2nd, I have seen and urgent care doctor that diagnosed me with a virus. Then, I went to my dermatologist where I was diagnosed with Gianotti Crosti Syndrome and was given steroids. The rash continued moving throughout my body so I went to see my PCP where she stated that it was a virus still and said to stay on the steroids and take ibuprofen for all of my other symptoms. Finally, I went to see a rheumatologist in case I had lupus. I’ve been tested for Lupus and I don’t have it. So far, I’ve had 3 biopsies of my rash and they haven’t found anything. I’m waiting for one biopsy that was taken 4 weeks ago because it was sent to Cleveland Clinic to check for malignancies. I’m currently having blood taken every week, which is improving. I had a chest X-ray which was clear. I have been tested for every virus, skin disease, infectious disease, and anything else you can be tested for. As of day 51 I’m still on steroids 40mg/day which are currently masking my symptoms. I’m seeking help because my doctors are stumped they cannot figure out what this rash is. Also, this rash has really affected my life I will not leave my house unless I’m going to the doctor. I’m depressed and really need to know what this is and how to get rid of this horrible rash. My rash is flattening out and looking better but it is still noticeable. I’m off of work and need to be back to my old self. Please help! I’m desperate!
