- CASE FILE
I have been a sleepwalker all my life but now I'm also a blackout daywalker.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Ever since I became mobile on my own by crawling and then walking I have been a chronic sleepwalker. It was very bad to start with but actually got worse once I began going through puberty. I am currently 45, have had a complete hysterectomy so I am post menopausal and about 7yrs ago I began going through phases of sleepwalking and what I can only explain as daytime sleepwalking/blacking out without knowingly trying to sleep and there is no connection between the phases and they can last anywhere from a few days to a few months. I have a horrible tendency of leaving my townhouse and sleepwalking for miles and miles, I hide/remove/throw away household items that are very rarely ever found on top of the fact that I have totalled 4 vehicles and driven through 3 garage doors while either day or sleep walking. There were a few medications over the years that I thought definitely made things worse so I stopped taking those but I am still having serious problems. I have had one sleep study done but it came back inconclusive mostly because they were worried and concentrated more on sleep apnea which I do not have.
