Routine blood tests last year prompted doctor to want to prescribe meds for High BP, Thyroid, and diabetes without further tests.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Fifteen years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and prescribed 7 medications. I did not take any of them and began researching ways to alleviate the pain and symptoms by changing diet. About a year ago I had a serious BP spike and tests showed high blood pressure, hypothyroidism, and prediabetes. Immediately meds were suggested. I do not smoke, drink, or do drugs of any kind, I eat organic and mostly healthy, and have little stress thanks to being retired. After doing some research I suggested tests that might explain the reason for these symptoms but they were not willing to investigate further. I have sickle cell trait, and read that my symptoms can be a result of the SCT. I also believe that the SCT could be causing an autoimmune response resulting in inflammation that causes the high blood pressure, pain and discomfort attributed to the fibromyalgia I am hoping that someone will read this and help me find a doctor that will look into the possibility that something else ( SCT) is causing the high bp, hypothyroid, prediabetes, pain and inflammation, which can be managed without medications. With so many millions of people in the world with SCT, I think this is something that merits further investigation. I am anti meds when they are prescribed as the first and only solution to a problem. It leads to years of suffering and sometimes addiction or dependency when there just might be a cure or relief if someone would take the time to investigate other options.
