ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
Help! I have a strange constellation of immune symptoms but no one can tell me why. I have seen many doctors that do not seem to be concerned with finding the root cause of the issues, rather just put me on immunosuppressants. I have been diagnosed with Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS kidney disease) that is resistant to steroids and mildly responding to immunosuppressants. Daily chronic bodywide hives that respond to steroids and immunosuppressants but still require daily use of high doses of benadryl. Acne rosacea not responding to typical treatments. Hypoglycemia episodes into the 40s, endocrinologist did not find a cause, told me to eat more protein. I am concerned about my declining kidney function that will eventually necessitate a kidney transplant; unfortunately my doctor tells me that this type of kidney disease will recur in a new kidney due to my immune system. The immunosuppresants are necessary but cause me a lot of side effects such as daylong nausea and higher risk for cancers. I would like to know WHY my immune system is dysfunctional in multiple systems of my body, not just take immunosuppressants as a band-aid. I have had multiple biopsies and innumerable blood tests. I am tired! I am only 36 and I am a mom. I need to know what is causing this and if it will be passed to my children.
