I’m 19 years old and have been living with nausea, unintentional weight loss, and high liver enzymes.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I’m 19 years old and for the past year have dealt with nausea, fatigue, unintentional weight loss, and loss of appetite. For 5 months I suffered and lost 50lbs. in a month. I went from 185lbs to 130lbs. I was so nauseas I didn’t eat anything. I barely drank water. I was drinking an ensure everyday just to get calories. My stomach wanted nothing. The only test that showed something was my liver enzyme tests. They were high. The doctors finally took out my gallbladder even though my HIDA scan came out normal. My gallbladder had acute on chronic cholecystitis. I’m about 4-5 months out of surgery and I’m still nauseas and on a fat free restricted diet. Ive had every blood test and some scans. Doctors are stumbled as to what’s going on and why I’m still having symptoms. My liver enzymes are high again. I’m currently waiting to see my gastro again to decide on more tests, but the wait time is leaving me here to live everyday in misery. I’m in college and really missing out on a good part of my life. I’m mentally drained and at my limit.
