ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I have maxed out insurance and copays. Have had CT Scan of Chest, 2 of abdomen and an MRI of my abdomen. Numerous X-Rays. A hospital stay due to diaphragmatic spams and upper left rib and back pain, as well as an MRI of my thoracic spine. Prior to that, In January and February I noticed random pain in my upper left rib cage just under chest along bra line while sitting at my desk. End of April beginning of May it was getting worse. Then I started to feel pain in my Mid to upper back on the left side as well as the ribcage/chest pain. Almost debilitating at times. It feels burning, pinching, pulling and gnawing at times. Sometimes it is worse when I lay on my back or when laying in bed. Sometimes when sitting. Sometimes worse after eating. It is very random. It can last as long as a few seconds to a few minutes. In April, while at the gym I was on the stair master and had the worst pain in my upper abdomen and that terrible burning, pinching pulling pain in my left rib. (Intercostal area along bra - line) I was having a diaphragmatic spasm so severe I passed out and ended up at the ER. That's when they referred me to GI.In May of this year I had GI study series, colonoscopy, endoscopy as well as a HIDA Scan to check gallbladder and the CT Scan and MRI of Abdomen. GI doctor thought it could be my pancreas, but MRI with contrast of pancreas was negative. His comment was WE DIDN'T SEE ANY PANCREATIC MASS AT THIS TIME, which left me scared to death. That was all in May. Pain continues and I keep telling my doctor, but he says maybe its just a muscle so refers to Physical Therapy. Random diaphragmatic spasms also continue. Last week I had an MRI of my Thoracic spine that showed normal. No disk or mass compressing any nerves. Bloodwork in May and beginning of June was normal. I am in Physical Therapy now with no relief or help. They keep asking if all of my organs were scanned and clear. I am at a loss. No answers. The doctors I have seen thus far have no clue what it could be. I was told my the Thoracic specialist it could be idiopathic and I may never know, or maybe they missed something on my scan. I have also seen A cardiologist that cleared my heart, so that is not the left sided pain. I am at a loss and my doctors are at a loss. They have no clue as to what this pain is. I am a mom of two beautiful daughters and I would love answers and help to live pain free and enjoy my time with them. I am not myself anymore. I went from being in the gym 6 days a week for the last 3 years and regaining my health, to have it being stripped away from me due to this pain with no answers.
