ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
My 13 year old daughter was fairly healthy till around her 12th birthday. It’s started with sinus infections, then on to the flu, then mono. One doctor noticed her right side was weak, and optic nerves were swollen, so we had a CT scan and sent to a neurologist and an ophthalmologist. From there we had a lumbar puncture to release pressure only find her spinal fluid was only half of what she should have. Several MRIs, and adding a headache specialist we had no answers still. Continued seeing this group for a little over a year with no relief. Went to another children’s hospital for a 2nd opinion, had an EGG that came back abnormal sent for a 3 day EGG for them to see partial focal seizures, and send her into a tonic clonic seizure with the strobe lights. She still is having issues and many days she can’t get out of bed or form a complete sentence. She was always very active, dance and cheerleading, strong in mathematics, and social. One day she woke up and hasn’t been the same since. Please, help us. A bit of back ground info she is a twin (B) born at 37 wks, no NICU, RSV at a month old, and history of febrile seizures.
