- CASE FILE
We think my wife has a form of “episodic ataxia”, but none of the tests and doctors she’s seen the last 4 years can tell us How to treat it.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
My wife started having episodes of dizziness with nystagmus causing her to have to lie down while the episode would finish. They last between 5-10m and have been minor and go away or some bad ones that cause her nausea and vomiting. In each episode she would have varying levels of fatigue afterwards as well as word recall when trying to talk afterwards for a short period of time. We have been told seizures, episodic ataxia, MS...and it has been none of these. She has blood draws and a spinal tap, MRI’s, xrays, CT’s, and haven’t been able to figure out what it is. Labs have been sent to Mayo Clinic and all she has gotten was her levels are within normal levels, but her episodes still continue.
