ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I’m 38 and a kidney transplant recipient (18 years ago). In 2011 I had appendicitis and it was removed. During the surgery my lymphatic system above the kidney transplant was damaged and a compacted lymphocele formed around my kidney which was slowly strangling it. It was removed in 2016 and I now have several problems that they can’t figure out. I have a few pancreatic cysts and they cause a lot of pain from time to time. My abdomen swells and is very painful from the ascites that builds up in there and the doctors can’t tell where the fluid is coming from. I have chronic anemia, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, chronic inflammation swelling of my extremities and gout among other health problems. I have gone to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and continue to follow up with all my providers here locally but still have not received any answers. My quality of life for a person my age is very limited and impacts a normal lifestyle with my friends, family and boyfriend. I’m in constant pain so following a healthy lifestyle of working out is extremely difficult and sometimes the food I eat causes a lot of pain. The pain is so bad that there are times even taking a shower is difficult, things that people do daily like cleaning the house for me are very difficult when I have a flare up. Even my body hurts from the clothes I wear sometimes. I’ve been looking for answers or someone that can help me get my life back.
