- CASE FILE
I experience unexplained upper body movements (from the waist up) and chronic migraines/headaches on a daily basis for over 4 years now.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
At age 16, I began having spells once a year that my family doctor told my mom was "My brains way of resetting". I would have a spell once may twice a year up until July 2015 when my health took a turn for the worst. I began experiencing and chronic migraine heads on a daily basis. The spells look like seizure activity from the waist up; my chest and head shake, my head turns to the left, sometimes i make noises during these spells, the spells can cause me to lose my balance or be unsteady on my feet and at times have cause me to fall to my knees. I also have had a difficult time speaking and remembering things after having a spell. The spell do not last long, up to 15 seconds, but wipe me out at times. I have been told they are not epileptic seizures after Johns Hopkins completed a 4 day inpatient EEG. I can at times suppress a spell but then later spells come on even worse then if I would have just left the spell happen in the first place. My right arm tremors before and at times after having a"spell". My eyes dilate for no reason. An ophthalmologist has told me the pressure behind my eyes if normal. I have some degree of a headache every day. My headaches range from a dull ache to a migraine that puts me down. I have had MRI's done. They do not show anything abnormal with my brain. After having a spell at work and my supervisor taking me to the emergency room, it has become unsafe for me to work due to these spells. Medication helps with the symptoms but I still experience the spells and headaches on a daily basis. I do have a family history of epilepsy on both my mother and my father's sides.
