- CASE FILE
Losing faith and hope of ever living a normal life again.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
A decade ago I was diagnosed with inappropriate sinus tachycardia after bouts of my heart rate rapidly increasing for no foreseeable reason. Since that diagnosis I have visited some of the best hospital in the country, picked up a few differing diagnoses (POTS, SVT, Sinus Tachycardia) and more troubling symptoms that are ruining my life (fatigue, debilitating brain fog, tinnitus, neck issues, motion sickness while sitting still, sleep disturbances). But, still no definitive (agreed upon) diagnosis.
I had to sell my house and give up my job in TX and move to IA to be near family because my symptoms have gradually gotten worse and I am having a harder time caring for myself. My symptoms wax and wane in severity and almost seem cyclical in nature.
Typically, my lab tests comes back within normal range. With the expectation of low vitamin D. I have had an EP (heart) study, heart MRI and brain MRI’s and a CT of cervical spine. I’ve been through physical therapy for neck symptoms. I’ve seen nearly every doctor under the sun. Unfortunately, the feedback I often hear is that I am too young for anything to really be wrong with me. However, I disagree with that dismissiveness, it is not normal for an individual to awake during the night praying for help because their neck is stiff, vision is blurred, room is moving, and heart is pounding.
Since the onset of this illness I have been gradually losing my independence, confidence and spirit. I am throwing my lifeline out here and pray that someone/anyone has some feedback that I can use to gain my life back.
Thank you for caring enough to help a stranger.
