ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I’m 31 years old and about a year ago ( in July) I woke up with swollen feet, after seeing the doctor I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. A few months after( in September)I started getting pain in my stomach, after seeing a Gastroenterologist and having and EGD they found 3 ulcers all about 10 mm in size. In early January I went back for a repeat EGD and they found the ulcers were healing, however about 3 days after my EGD I started getting. I wasn’t able to keep anything down for about 12 hours and I had blood in my stool and vomit. I went to the Emergency Room and was admitted for the next 10 days. During this time they did multiple tests, a HIDA scan, a repeat EGD, two CAT scans and multiple blood tests. During my hospitalization I started to develop a more intense stomach pain and the doctors then released me staying it was just a stomach bug. After following up with my GI doctor they sent me for a gastric emptying test which showed my stomach was significantly delayed by 51% so they diagnosed me with gastroparesis. Over the course of the next few months I was in and out of the er at least once a week due to vomiting and pain. I’ve devolve a rash on the right side of my face that seems to flare up and itch after I eat.I was then sent to an endocrinologist who took blood work and it showed that my previous slightly under active thyroid was now over producing 3x as much so I stoped my thyroid medication and my next blood work was normal and I was to repeat in 6-8 weeks. After repeating that my thyroid was now essentially non functioning with a tsh level of over 100. I’m still in pain every day all day, still get nauseous and sometimes vomits after eating and they recently found a 5.1 cm cyst on my ovary. My brother has similar issues. He also get sick after eating, gets the same rash/itching after eating. He’s been dealing with these issues for about 3 years and he has no diagnosis for his issues.
