- CASE FILE
I have had 4 retinal detachments within appox 12-14 months in my left eye. Little to no vision in that eye.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR), My first surgery was a success or so I thought, my vision was almost normal but three months later, another detachment, during my second surgery my cornea was taken out due to a cataract, which misshaped my pupil. Third surgery was one month later and oil was put in, took oil out and had a forth detachment within a week. Oil was again put in and at this point will never be taken out, from what I'm told. I have read that one can get a corrective cornea lenses put in which will restore some vision but my dr refuses to do that, is it possible, will someone do this? 2016 was a year I will never forget, as a retired military veteran, a disabled veteran and retired federal law enforcement officer who had just retired 6 months prior, I was dealing with eye issues, found out I had skin cancer at the same time. It is hard not having full vision and I also worry about losing the sight in my right eye (had a tear lasered), as I am told I am more susceptible to retinal detachments in my RT eye, is it possible to restore any vision in my left eye?
