- CASE FILE
I'm a female in my late 20s. I've had debilitating pelvic pain for years. Even surgical intervention didn't provide long term relief.
ABOUT THIS CASE FILE
I am 27, and I have severe, chronic pelvic pain and exceptionally heavy periods. My pain most frequently affects my left side and includes my pelvic floor and abdomen. I also sometimes have severe pain low and centered in my hips/pelvis. I've tried everything from reiki, hypnosis, abdominal massage, and chiropractic care to an exploratory laparoscopy/hysteroscopy, trigger point injections in my pelvic floor, birth control, and pelvic physical therapy. My surgeon found scar tissue in my abdomen but found no evidence of endometriosis. The surgery provided about 8 months of pain relief, but the pain is coming back. It's so severe that I am beginning to think I'd be willing to sacrifice my fertility if removing my reproductive organs would stop my pain. This pain causes anxiety/depression symptoms and makes it hard to work and live my life. I need some relief.
